Top performer candidates

Charlie Boucher, Minneapolis Southwest. The Lakers stymied Bloomington Kennedy’s offense, led by Boucher on defense. The junior had 12 tackles — and five tackles for a loss that included two sacks. The Lakers won 27-0.

Christian Crockett, Fridley. The Tigers gave up their first points of the season but did enough on offense to secure a 15-9 victory over Providence Academy. The senior made 11 tackles and grabbed an interception — his third in as many games — to pace the Tigers.

Max Hunter, Andover. The Huskies allowed just one touchdown for the third straight game and earned their third win, thanks in part to Hunter. The senior recorded eight tackles, two sacks and an interception as the Huskies defeated Buffalo 43-7.

Joey Stolpestad, SMB. The sophomore grabbed the team lead in tackles through three games after the Wolfpack’s 26-6 victory against St. Anthony. Stolpestad made 15 total tackles to bring his season total to 33.

Carter Thelen, Albany. A first-quarter touchdown was all the offense the Huskies needed as they shut out New London-Spicer 8-0. The senior led the defensive effort, recording eight solo tackles (11 total) and two sacks.
