St. Thomas Academy 30, Henry Sibley 6: Danny McFadden rushed for 261 yards and three touchdowns as the Cadets, ranked No. 2 in Class 5A, ran past the visiting Warriors. Caledonia vs. Stewartville postponed: Caledonia, the top-ranked team in Class 2A, was scheduled to play at Stewartville, ranked No. 8 in Class 3A on Friday, but the game was called off because of COVID-19 issues.

Stewartville activities director Tim Malone said in a statement late Thursday to KIMT-TV News 3, “We have a ton of respect for the Caledonia football program. We would have loved to share the field with them on Friday night. At this time our thoughts and prayers are with a member of our football family and his health moving forward.”

A tweet from Caledonia’s football Twitter account said “both sides are working to get this game played sometime this year.” Caledonia, which has won five consecutive Class 2A state titles, opened its season last Saturday with a 26-8 victory over Plainview-Elgin-Millville. The victory was the Warriors’ 69th consecutive — the longest current streak in the nation.

Becker vs. Delano canceled: The Becker at Delano game was canceled after Delano had a player test positive for COVID-19. Becker (1-0) is ranked No. 4 in Class 4A. Becker opened its season last week with a 20-13 victory over Spring Lake Park. The Bulldogs were originally scheduled to open with Chisago Lakes, but that game was canceled because of COVID-19 issues.
