And the winner is...MN Football Hub defensive top performer revealed

See who fans voted as the top performer from Oct. 3-10.

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Football Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer winner

Hayden Sanders, Champlin Park. The senior linebacker had 1 1/2 sacks, a forced a fumble and a blocked a kick for the Rebels on Oct. 9. Sanders also contributed 13 total tackles in the Rebels’ 38-21 victory over Centennial.

Top performer candidates

Dylan Ehmke, Hayfield. Defensive lineman Dylan Ehmke had three sacks in Hayfield’s 28-8 victory over Winona Cotter in Week 1. The senior also had a fumble recovery in the Vikings’ opening night win.

Nick Flaskamp, Minneapolis Southwest. Flaskamp recorded 15 tackles — 13 of which were solo — on Oct. 9 in Minneapolis Southwest’s 29-2 triumph over Columbia Heights. The senior linebacker forced a fumble and had three tackles for loss as the Lakers' defense shut down the Hylanders.  

Gavin Kampsen, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa. Kampsen leads the state in tackles after the first week of the season, based on stats submitted to the MN Football Hub. He had 22 total tackles — 14 solo — in a 34-0 loss to Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City.

Brayden Peil, Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda. The junior middle linebacker had 10 solo tackles (18 overall) in the Coyotes' 48-20 defeat of Edgerton/Ellsworth on Oct. 9. Peil also recovered a fumble and defended a pass in the victory.
