The victory sends the Trojans, who average 24.75 points per game, into the Class 6A playoffs where they're almost certain to be a top seed.

Wayzata’s offense features one of the state’s leading running backs who had already eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing on the season before the Trojans’ regular-season finale on Wednesday.

However, if the Trojans’ upcoming opposition in the Class 6A playoffs believe they only need to worry about Wayzata’s ground game, they might be mistaken.

The Trojans (8-0, 6-0) finished off a perfect regular season with a display of balanced offense in a 34-6 victory at Burnsville (1-7, 1-5) on Wednesday. While 1,000-yard rusher Christian Vasser and fellow running back Daeshawn Bush each scored touchdowns in the first quarter for the Trojans, senior quarterback Thomas Schmidt and his wide receivers dealt plenty of damage, too.

Talking to Schmidt, it doesn’t take long to get an idea of just how confident he is in the team’s potent offense.
