We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

Mound Westonka vs. St. Paul Academy/Minnehaha Academy/Blake, 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11. Mound Westonka registered its first loss in inauspicious fashion last week, going down in flames to Fridley 31-6. Still, the White Hawks (5-1, 3-0) figure to offer Twin City Suburban Maroon Subdistrict foe No. 1-4A SMB (6-0, 3-0) more resistance than it has received all season. The Wolfpack have outscored opponents 251-44, including 84-14 in the first quarter.

Ogilvie vs. Carlton, 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11. Unbeatens — both are 6-0 overall and 4-0 in 9-Man North White Subdistrict play — square off in what could be a state tournament preview. The teams reside in different sections, but they have five state tournament appearances combined.
