Chanhassen relies on big second half to get past St. Louis Park

Jason Collins picked up where he left off.

Chanhassen's junior wide receiver and running back scored the game-winning touchdown in a 19-13 overtime victory last week against Waconia. He kept the Storm’s momentum going Friday against St. Louis Park, rushing for 132 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries.

The Storm (3-3, 3-1) beat the Orioles 40-24, getting back to .500 after a 1-3 start to the season. Chanhassen turned around a tight 13-12 game in the fourth quarter with three TDs.

First report

Senior quarterback Jack Schaefer scored two touchdowns as Chanhassen downed St. Louis Park 40-24 Friday night.

Schaefer threw for one TD and ran for another as the Storm (3-3, 3-1) held a 13-12 lead in the third quarter.

Orioles (2-4, 1-2) senior quarterback Aaron Ellingson kept his team in the game with three TD passes.

Chanhassen pulled away in the fourth quarter with three TDs in a five-minute span, beginning with a 1-yard scamper from Jason Collins, a junior, who finished with 132 yards on 31 carries.
