Blooming Prairie QB is eight touchdowns away from all-time career record

Blooming Prairie senior quarterback Luc Zellmer’s chase of the state touchdown record is going to have wait at least a week.

Zellmer hurt his throwing hand late in Friday’s 40-35 loss at Le Center, and he will miss at least this week’s game at Medford. Zellmer has 15 passing touchdowns this season and 93 in his career, the third most in state history and eight away from tying the record. Zellmer threw a school-record 43 touchdowns last season.

Blossoms coach Chad Gimbel said Zellmer will miss this week’s game against the Tigers, who are 1-2 after a 21-14 loss at Mankato Loyola last week.
