We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

Rocori vs. Becker, 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4. These North Central White Subdistrict teams each have one loss, and for both it came against Hutchinson. Rocori (4-1, 3-1) lost 36-20 on Sept. 13, and No. 8-4A Becker 16-13 on Sept. 6 to the No. 2-4A Tigers. Player to watch? How about Becker (4-1, 3-1) quarterback Josh Fobbe, who has thrown for 1,025 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Coon Rapids vs. Robbinsdale Armstrong, 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4. The Jake Breitbach-to-Thai Bowman passing combination keeps humming along for No. 5-5A Robbinsdale Armstrong (5-0, 4-0) while Suburban Blue Subdistrict opponent Coon Rapids (4-1, 4-0) features defensive standout Myles Taylor, a linebacker with seven sacks.

Jackson County Central vs. Blue Earth Area, 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4. Another matchup featuring ranked teams from different classes: No. 6-2A Blue Earth Area (4-1, 1-1) could soothe the sting of last week’s loss to Pipestone Area with a triumph over No. 2-3A Jackson County Central (5-0, 2-0) in this South Central White Subdistrict showdown.
