And the winner is...MN Football Hub offensive top performer revealed

Top performer winner

Russell Corrigan, Hutchinson (3-0, 2-0). In addition to throwing for 77 yards on just three completions, the senior quarterback ran the ball 177 yards — an average of 7.4 yards per carry — and scored five touchdowns in the Tigers’ 36-20 win against Rocori. Corrigan also scored three two-point conversions.

Top performer candidates

Corrigan also scored three two-point conversions.

Jack Foster, Mankato West (2-1, 2-1). The senior quarterback completed 10 of 13 passes in the Scarlets’ 43-0 rout of Northfield, throwing for 357 yards and four touchdowns. Foster completed three TD passes in the first quarter, including one for 68 yards and another for 73 yards, helping the Scarlets to a 21-0.

Jonathan Kieren, St. Anthony (3-0, 1-0). The senior running back led the Huskies offense with 318 yards in a 34-14 victory over Columbia Heights. Kieren’s one reception of the game was for 21 yards and resulted in the game’s first touchdown. The remainder of his yards (245) came on the ground, where he had touchdowns runs of 58 and 91 yards. Kieran rounded out his successful night with 52 yards on two kick returns. 

Easton Miller, Rogers (2-1, 2-0). In the Royals’ 42-14 win against Cambridge-Isanti, the senior quarterback led the offense with three second-quarter touchdowns, including one on a 1-yard run. His other two came through the air in the final five minutes of the period. The 46- and 53-yard completions helped bring his total yards for the night to 322.

Jack Jandro, Bethlehem Academy (1-2, 0-0). Jandro was a true dual threat, accumulating more than 100 yards as a passer and runner in the Cardinals’ 35-14 win over Fillmore Central. The senior quarterback finished the game with 267 combined yards and accounted for three touchdowns, the first of which was a 4-yard touchdown run. In the third quarter, he rushed for a 68-yard TD and completed a 14-yard pass for his final touchdown. 

Max Otto, Delano (3-0, 1-0). Otto was the tiger in Delano's gas tank, fueling a late drive to secure a 40-34 win against Moorhead. The Tigers played a continual game of catchup and held only two leads in the game — the first was for just more than a minute in the third quarter while the second came after the senior quarterback completed a 67-yard TD pass with 1:35 remaining in the fourth quarter. Otto finished the game with 307 yards and five touchdowns on 19 completions, including one on a 47-yard TD pass.

Joseph Russell, Robbinsdale Cooper (2-1, 1-0). The sophomore quarterback accounted for a season-high four touchdowns in the Hawks' 49-25 victory over visiting St. Louis Park. Russell threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns – two of which were more than 50 yards – and rushed for 98 yards and another TD.

Cade Sheehan, Rochester Mayo (3-0, 3-0). In the Spartans’ 49-20 victory at Albert Lea, the senior quarterback threw a season-high five touchdowns and totaled 221 passing yards on 15 attempts. He also had 23 rushing yards on three carries.

Derek Turner, Breck (3-0, 1-0). The senior running back produced his second 200-yard game of the season, hitting the mark on the nose and adding three touchdowns in a 43-22 win against Brooklyn Center. Turner had a fourth touchdown on a 67-yard kick return. Turner ranks among the state's best in rushing yards (554) and rushing TDs (10) this season.

Tony Underwood, Cretin-Derham Hall (3-0, 2-0). The senior running back was a versatile asset on offense as the Raiders rolled Roseville 35-7. Underwood accumulated 239 combined yards with 121 coming on the ground. He ran for two touchdowns and had third on a 30-yard pass. He also had two receptions for 42 yards and returned two kicks for 46 yards.
