Schauer, Rebels dominate Randolph

Jacob Schauer rushes for 287 yards and four touchdowns as Rebels score 48 points in first half

The undefeated Eagle Valley Rebels pummeled Randolph on Friday, Sept. 23, winning 62-14.

The Rebels scored on every possession in the first half to take a 48-0 into the second half. Jake Schauer set the tone with a 64-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage.

After the Rebels defense forced a punt, Luke Mock went down the sidelines 64 yards for a touchdown, bringing the score to 16-0 three minutes into the game.

After another stop by the defense, Schauer punched in another touchdown for Eagle Valley after a nice cut sprung him for a 76-yard touchdown run.

Mock scored his second touchdown on a three-yard run. Rebels running back Derek Meyer followed that with score of his own.

To start the second half, Eagle Valley drove 70 yards on eight plays before Schauer scored his third touchdown of the night.

The Rebels dominated the first half stats, finishing with nearly 400 yards of offense on the ground. The defense gave up only 23 yards of total offense.

In the second half, the Rockets threw an interception to Taylor Bailey to end a nice drive on the Rebels' 3. Randolph got on the board after Eagle Valley punted for the first time.

After the score, Schauer received some nice blocking from Cody Kent, Tyson Eckel, and Tate Benning to run 53 yards for his fourth touchdown of the game.

Eagle Valley's offense ended the night with more than 500 rushing yards. Schauer continued his great running picking up 287 yards on 16 carries. Luke Mock finished with 143 yards on just six carries.

The defense dominated in the first half. Blake Borst led in tackles with 16. John Wood added 11. The Rebels picked off three passes and had two quarterback sacks.

The Rebels move to 4-0 on the season.

Eagle Valley hosts Underwood on Friday. Underwood is coming off a 34-8 victory over a good Ashby team and boast a 3-1 record.
