Upsala/Swanville falls to Browerville

Patriots can't over come Tigers in 19-7 loss

On Friday night, the Upsala/Swanville Patriots suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Browerville Tigers by a score of 19-7.

The Tigers struck first with a one-yard touchdown run by Mitchell Heid followed by the extra point.

Browerville scored again in the second quarter on a one-yard touchdown run by Ben Dreher. The Tigers missed the extra point, bringing the score to 13-0.

The Patriots struck back scoring on a 22-yard touchdown run by Austin Mollner followed by a successful extra point by Brock Cichon.

Early in the second half, Browerville clinched the game on a 63-yard pass. 

Eric Freiler led Upsala/Swanville in rushing with 112 yards on 14 carries. He also threw for 154 yards on the night, completing 13 of 26 passes.

Garrett Wolf caught six passes for 88 yards.

The Patriots dropped to 1-1 on the season and will be looking to bounce back against United North Central this week.

Game time is set for 7 p.m. in Swanville.
