Aaron Wakefield typifies the new attitude on Superior’s football team.
The sophomore running back doesn’t reflect upon the Spartans’ 0-9 season in 2010 — after all, he was on the freshman team and wasn’t part of the varsity’s troubles. Instead, he and the rest of the Spartans are brimming with confidence after defeating Duluth East 28-21 on Friday night at Public Schools Stadium to start the season 2-0 for the first time since 2007.
Wakefield rushed for 155 yards on 25 carries and scored two touchdowns as the Spartans rallied for the second consecutive game.
