Rebels win 24-18 in double overtime Zero Week match-up

It took two overtimes to decide the final outcome in the Highway 59 rival game between Murray County Central and Fulda at Alex Fisher Field Thursday night, but when MCC senior running back Chris Halbur bolted across the goal line for his third touchdown, the visiting Rebels had earned a hard-fought, 24-18, victory in Minnesota’s first high school football game of the new season.

The tradition-rich game between the two schools nearly did not place this season, as Fulda and MCC were not scheduled to play each other this fall, according to the original Little Sioux Conference schedule, which was released last winter.

But, when Ortonville dropped out of the Little Sioux, both MCC and Fulda had an open date in their schedules — but, obviously, not on the same night.
