Becker vs. Hutchinson

7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 23

Some of the buzz from this matchup was sapped when Becker (2-1) lost to Rocori (3-0) in Week 1, but the Bulldogs responded with a pair of wins and are receiving votes in the Sept. 14 Class 4A Associated Press poll. They can also claim a 21-12 home win against Hutchinson last year. Ryan Bengtson is completing 53.2% of his passes for 426 yards and Isaiah Gardner's 254 rushing yards lead a backfield featuring three guys over 100 yards.

Hutchinson (3-0) has been a machine ever since that Week 4 loss to Becker last year. The Tigers are on a 12-game win streak with all games decided by 18 or more points. Their three wins at the 2021 Class 4A state tournament all came by four touchdowns or more. Hutchinson has shut out two opponents this season and are averaging 44 points per game.

Senior Levi Teetzel leads the run-heavy team with 503 rush yards and five TDs. Senior A.J. Ladwig adds 324 yards and eight TDs. Defenses can't over pursuit on the run as junior quarterback Logan Butler can hit for big plays with 15.9 yards per completion on 14 of 19 (73.7%) passing. This expects to be one of the Tigers' toughest tests remaining in the regular season and section playoffs.
