Up three in the closing minutes, senior defensive back Carter Van Holland stripped a Hawks wide receiver for a fumble as Chaska was driving near midfield. Junior running back Maxwell Woods added rushing touchdowns of 36 and 39 yards for the Storm.
Spring Lake Park (2-0) gets its first test after drubbing winless foes by a 98-31 margin. The Panthers haven’t had to pass much with a dominant run game that’s produced 657 yards at 7.1 yards per carry. Senior running back Brayden Talso is tops with 139 yards on 27 carries (5.1 ypc) and six TDs.
Chanhassen edged Spring Lake Park 14-7 when the two teams squared off last season.
