Stillwater vs. Eden Prairie

7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 21

Yet another top-billing worthy game to end the regular season features one of the state’s two unbeaten Class 6A schools in No. 3-6A Stillwater (7-0) heading west across the metro to face No. 2-6A Eden Prairie (6-1).

Stillwater has scored 35 or more points in each of its last five games. Senior running back Edward O’Keefe leads the Ponies with 906 yards and 17 touchdowns. If the ground game stalls, junior quarterback Max Shikenjanski is fully capable of moving the offense. He’s thrown for seven touchdowns and more than 1,000 yards with just one interception.

Eden Prairie (6-1) is pretty much the same old Eden Prairie. Which is to say the 11-time state champion Eagles are exceedingly good. They have shut out their last two opponents in Shakopee (23-0) and Edina (35-0). Eden Prairie possesses a big-play offense, too, with senior running back Takhi Vaughn scoring on runs of 67 and 93 yards last week against Edina.
