Hutchinson vs. Becker

7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 24

Hutchinson’s Levi Teetzel and Mitchell Piehl are both on the first page of the state’s rushing yardage leaderboard. They serve as twin wrecking balls who have helped the Tigers, 3-0 and No. 1 in the Sept. 15 Class 4A Associated Press state rankings, demolish their first three opponents this season to the tune of a 120-40 scoring advantage.

Becker (3-0) is fully aware of the freight train headed its way. And the No. 2-4A Bulldogs might just have the muscle to shove it off its tracks. Becker has allowed just 21 points this season, with all of the scoring coming in the second half as the Bulldogs send in the reserves in blowout victories.

Becker, a three-time state champion, mixes the pass and run effectively, with junior quarterback Ryan Bengtson and senior running back Carter Callahan sharing the load.

Hutchinson, winner of five state championships, beat Becker 20-7 last season en route to a 5-2 season.
