Defending Class 6A state champion Lakeville North has yet to be seriously challenged this season, but that figures to change against one of the Panthers’ biggest rivals in Metro South Subdistrict foe Rosemount.
The Irish (1-1, 0-0) rebounded from their 28-13 season-opening loss to Prior Lake by upending Lakeville South 17-14 last week behind Christian Graske’s 127 rushing yards and Jonathan Mann’s 128 receiving yards. Each scored a touchdown.
Lakeville North’s (2-0, 1-0) secret offseason insertion of Raja Nelson at quarterback has so far been wildly successful. The former receiver/running back threw a couple of touchdowns and ran for another last week in the No. 2-6A Panthers' 56-0 drubbing of Eagan.
