St. Agnes vs. Spectrum

7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5

St. Agnes is scoring 39 points per game behind a running game churning up yards at an impressive clip.

This week, the Aggies face a team that is finding the end zone at an even higher rate. Spectrum has lit up scoreboards this season, amassing 307 total points and leading the state at 61.4 points per game.

Whoever runs the scoreboard at Friday's matchup should be prepared for plenty of work.

The Aggies (4-1, 4-0) own a ground game has been effective, to say the least, as the team averages 300 yards per game led by Terrell Jones, whose 915 rushing yards is seventh best in the state and his 13 touchdowns is fourth best.

Hoping to at least secure a share of the Twin City Blue subdistrict title with a win, the defending league champion Sting will counter with their own productive rushing attack.

Spectrum's high-octane offense is fueled by Fisher Marberg (632 yards, 12 touchdowns rushing) leading the way. Marberg became the 15th player in Minnesota to eclipse 5,000 career rushing yards after gaining 167 yards on 14 carries in a 66-8 victory at Minneapolis Edison two weeks ago, and fellow senior running back Sam Cooper has added 450 yards and eight touchdowns this season for the No. 9-3A Sting (5-0, 4-0).
