Now a senior, Folz is fittingly the Lions' do-it-all player, staring at quarterback, safety and kicker. His skills were key last season as he helped Spring Grove finish with a 14-0 overall record en route to the program's first 9-Man state title, after Spring Grove defeated 9-Man juggernaut Grand Meadow (winner of the last four state titles) in the section playoffs. The Lions had lost to the Superlarks in the Section 1 championship for five consecutive seasons before recording an impressive 40-17 victory in last year's semifinals.
