Osseo at St. Michael-Albertville
7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 18

St. Michael-Albertville can continue its strong first season in Class 6A by grabbing a share of the Metro North subdistrict title with a win over Osseo. This matchup between the No. 6-6A Knights and Orioles pits the 2015 Class 5A and 6A state champions against each other.

Two seasons later, the programs are in different positions, with St. Michael-Albertville (6-1, 4-1) remaining strong while Osseo (3-4, 2-3) is left to play spoiler at the end of the regular season. The Knights put up 31.3 points per game compared to the Orioles' 16.

An injury to NDSU-committ Mitchell Kartes against Totino-Grace hurt St. Michael-Albertville, but junior running back Desean Phillips has picked up the slack, as he's rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns since his teammate was hurt three weeks ago.

Osseo will look to finish the season strong after ending a three-game losing streak with a 21-7 win over Anoka last week.
