Hawley at Barnesville
7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 13

A long-standing rivalry between Hawley and Barnesville takes place as these Midwest White subdistrict and Class 2A, Section 8 foes square off with plenty on the line.

The winner clinches a share of the league title and likely a higher seed in the playoffs, where the teams have met in four of the past five postseasons.

It truly has been a two-team race in the league this season, with no team threatening the dominance of the Nuggets or the Trojans.

Hawley (6-0, 4-0) boasts an impressive scoring differential of nearly 40 points (51.3 points scored, surrendering just 13.3), and the No. 4-2A Nuggets have been led by senior running back Donnie Loegering, who has rushed for 726 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Barnesville also plays well on both sides of the ball, posting 30.7 points per game while allowing 9.

Last week, the No. 2-2A Trojans welcomed back their workhorse, and he seemed to be in midseason form. Brady Tweeton, who missed the first five games of the season with a broken ankle, finished with 141 yards and two touchdowns in his team's 40-20 victory over Crookston. Tweeton rushed for over 1,900 yards and scored 26 touchdowns last year.

Barnesville (6-0, 4-0) won its last three meetings with Hawley, including a 24-14 victory in the section championship last year.
