Kasson-Mantorville vs. Stewartville
7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29

For the last four seasons, Kasson-Mantorville has faced Stewartville in the regular season and postseason. While that changes with the Tigers dropping to Class 3A this year, the regular season rivalry continues as the teams meet Friday in Southeast Red subdistrict play.

Both teams are trying to stay with reigning league champion Rochester Lourdes. Kasson-Mantorville (4-0, 3-0) enter the week tied with the Eagles atop the standings, while No. 4-3A Stewartville (3-1, 2-1) sits a game back after suffering a 14-9 loss to Pine Island last week.

The KoMets ended a five-game skid to the Tigers last season, knocking their rival out of playoffs with a 34-12 win.

Stewartville boasts a solid backfield led by senior quarterback Isaac Bussan (668 passing yards, 6 TDs) and senior running back Kaleb Hamlin (396 rushing yards, 5 TDs).

Kasson-Mantorville's Robby Horsman is fresh off a performance in which he rushed for two touchdowns and returned a punt for another.
