Eden Prairie vs. Maple Grove
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28

Halfway through the season it appears the Metro West subdistrict is shaping up to be an even race. This week brings an interesting matchup with No. 1-6A Eden Prairie traveling to No. 7-6A Maple Grove.

The Eagles (4-0, 1-0) look to keep pace with the league's other undefeated teams -- Minnetonka and Edina -- while the Crimson (3-1, 0-1) hope to gain traction after a 28-21 loss to the Skippers in Week 3.

A stout defense has been Eden Prairie's calling card this year, with the team allowing just 6.8 points per game. That Eagles defense will look to slow Maple Grove's surging junior running back, Evan Hull, who has rushed for 704 yards and six touchdowns.

Eden Prairie counters with Solo Falaniko. The senior running back scored three TDs last week, including one on a pass from junior quarterback Cole Kramer, who now has thrown seven touchdowns.

The Eagles are 4-0 against the Crimson since 2014, with two victories coming in the playoffs, including last season's 63-21 win.
