St. Michael-Albertville vs. Centennial
7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 22

Another week is in the books and St. Michael-Albertville's debut season in Class 6A continues to chug along.

The No. 6-6A Knights picked up their third straight win by defeating Champlin Park 31-21, but their schedule doesn't ease with a game at No. 8-6A Centennial this week -- another battle between unbeaten teams looking for sole possession of first place in the Metro North subdistrict standings.

St. Michael-Albertville (3-0, 2-0) continues to light up the scoreboard, averaging 38.7 points per game, but scoring could be difficult against a Centennial squad (3-0, 2-0) that has grabbed wins by allowing just 12.7 points per game.

The Cougars defense will have its hands full with Mitchell Kartes, a North Dakota State commit who has 478 yards (9.8 yards per carry) and eight touchdowns as the Knights' top running back.

The senior is fresh off a 218-yard, three-touchdown performance that also saw the two-way player return an interception for a TD.

The Cougars' offense is led by senior quarterback Ryan Koob, who ran in both of the team's touchdowns in a 16-0 victory over Anoka last week, bringing his season total to five.
