Elk River at St. Francis
7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 14

There aren't many teams that have dominated the competition quite the way Elk River has this season, and the commanding play has the No. 1-5A Elks (6-0, 4-0) in position to clinch the North Central District Blue Division this week in a game at St. Francis (3-3, 1-3).

Elk River's ground game has been its calling card, with senior running backs Nick Rice (776, 10 TDs) and Sam Gibas (556, 10 TDs) leaving their names and numbers firmly impressed in the memories of their rivals. The duo has helped the Elks offense average 45.7 points per game and provide a potent complement to the team's stingy defense, which is allowing a measly 6.8 ppg.

In addition to locking up the league title, the Elks can avenge last year's 43-22 loss to the Fighting Saints with a victory on Friday.
