Mahtomedi at Park of Cottage Grove
7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 14

Mahtomedi lost to Park of Cottage Grove 42-14 last year, but each bring different teams into this matchup.

While the Zephyrs defense is top-notch (10.3 points per game), their offense has exploded this season to the tune of 36.2 ppg after averaging just 17.7 ppg a year ago.

The Zephyrs' senior backfield has been a major reason for the uptick, as Jalen Frye (890 yards, 8 TDs) and T.J. Tumbleson (402 yards, 10 TDs) have powered the rushing attack while quarterback Anthony Praml has contributed 702 yards and six touchdowns through the air.

The Wolfpack offense is just as dangerous, averaging 40 ppg behind dual-threat quarterback Brandon Alt. The senior has thrown for 1,440 yards and 15 touchdowns while adding 404 yards and nine TDs on the ground.
