Perham at Detroit Lakes
7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7

There's something about the rivalry between Perham and Detroit Lakes that always brings out the best in each.

Four of the last five meetings have been decided by one touchdown, and each of the last two have been decided by a total of three points -- including last year when the Lakers edged the Yellowjackets 33-32.

Something will have to give in this year's matchup, as Perham (4-1, 4-0) boasts the Midwest District Red Division's best offense (43.5 points per game) while Detroit Lakes (4-1, 3-1) has the best defense (8 ppg).

That defense hopes to slow Yellowjackets senior running back Jack DeConcini, who leads his team with 572 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.
