Rogers at Elk River
7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7

Elk River has had dominant displays through five weeks of the season. The No. 1-5A Elks (5-0, 3-0) have not only shot up the state rankings, but also the North Central Blue Division standings, where they boast the lone undefeated record.

Elk River puts that record on the line and looks to inch one step closer to a league title this week as it hosts No. 10-5A Rogers (4-1, 2-1).

The Elks boasts the top offense (56.25 points per game) and defense (8.5 ppg) in the division. The Royals, however, are no slouches on defense, surrendering just 11 ppg.

That Rogers defense has the tough task this week of slowing one of the state's top senior rushing duos in running backs Nick Rice (686 yards, 8 touchdowns) and Sam Gibas (503 yards, 9 TDs).
