Fridley at St. Paul Central
7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16

St. Paul Central and No. 8-4A Fridley have fired out of the gates and are tied with Minneapolis Washburn atop the Twin City District Maroon Division standings. The logjam will break this week as the Minutemen and Tigers tangle on Friday.

St. Paul Central (2-0) is the reigning league champion, having gone 5-1 in division play last year. Fridley finished second with a record of 4-2, including a 49-14 loss to the Minutemen.

The Tigers (2-0) look to be in good position to reverse last season's result with a talented backfield of quarterback Noah Couwenhoven and running back Prince Okolie returning. Couwenhoven has amassed 337 yards and four touchdowns through the air this season while Okolie has 360 yards and two TDs on the ground.
