Ely at Silver Bay

A pair of 9-Man state participants from last year clash this week when Ely (2-0) travels to Silver Bay (2-0) for a North District Blue Division showdown.

The Timberwolves went 12-1 last season and reached the state semifinals before falling to Underwood 37-14.

The Mariners suffered a 47-15 loss to Ely in the third week of last season, but bounced back convincingly, winning eight games in a row to reach the state quarterfinals. 

Ely's offense has been rolling early this season and No. 6-ranked Timberwolves will look to ride the momentum of their 52-0 route of Northeast Range to a fifth consecutive victory over No. 7-ranked Silver Bay.
