Robbinsdale Cooper at Robbinsdale Armstrong
7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16

The transition to districts two years ago meant the return of football for these Robbinsdale schools separated by just three miles. Last year, Robbinsdale Cooper defeated Robbinsdale Armstrong 26-6 in their first matchup since a 2010 section playoff game.

Each team finished with a record of 5-2 in Suburban District Red Division play last season and enter this week 1-0 in league play.

The Hawks (2-0) have set a blistering pace to start the season, dismantling Benilde-St. Margaret's 30-7 last week and outgunning Bloomington Jefferson 41-29 in the season opener.

If the Falcons (1-1) are to avenge last season's loss, they will need to match Cooper's offensive output with their superb rushing attack which is averaging 280 yards per game this season. The driving force behind the ground game is senior running back Cartier Reid, who has 304 yards, four touchdowns and a 12.7 yards-per-carry average.
