Stephen-Argyle at Waubun
7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9

Waubun put together the best season in school history a year ago, cruising to the Nine-Man state semifinals before recording its first loss and ending the season with an 11-1 record.

Only one team, Stephen-Argyle, kept pace with a powerful Bombers attack in the regular season, and fans are hoping Round 2 replicates the excitement of last year's 41-40 overtime game.

The Storm (1-0) started this year with an offensive surge, tallying a 49-30 win over Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal. Stephen-Argyle's best defense against Waubun may be a good offense, as the Bombers again boast weapons all over the field, led by quarterback Peyton Syverson.

The senior is one of the top players at his position after posting gaudy numbers (1,713 rushing yards, 27 touchdowns) last season. He found the end zone three times in a 32-21 win over Kittson County Central in Week 1 and is a reason Waubun (1-0) should be one of the favorites to compete for the state title.
