Recap: Armstrong powered past Woodbury behind standout performances from cousins Thomas and Collis Barber. Thomas Barber, a senior, was disruptive as a linebacker and finished with three bruising rushing touchdowns while playing running back. Collis Barber, also a senior, made a few great throws, including a 24-yard touchdown pass to True Thompson. The Falcons quarterback was also effective on the ground, bouncing outside for a 34-yard touchdown rush in the third quarter. Armstrong built on its double-digit lead from there and staved off a Woodbury comeback to keep its season alive. 

Key of the game: Armstrong dominated the turnover battle. Woodbury turned the ball over on downs on its first drive of the game to give Armstrong great field position, resulting in a Falcons score. Three more turnovers — two fumbles and one interception — all gave Armstrong great field position that subsequently led to touchdowns.

One thing to know: Woodbury’s Jeremiah Coddon and Armstrong’s Evan McClellon have game-changing speed. Coddon scored two touchdowns, while track star McClellon burst up the middle for a 39-yard touchdown rush in the fourth quarter.
