Eden Prairie at Minnetonka
7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 18

When a team has the type of success that Eden Prairie has had, it seems to bring more and more attention each week. For an opposing team, there are dreams of ending the Eagles' run. The four-time state champions extended their winning streak to 34 games after topping No. 9-6A Maple Grove 28-20 last week.

No. 1-6A Eden Prairie (4-0, 3-0) looks to continue its dominance this week when it plays at fellow West Metro South subdistrict foe Minnetonka.

If the Skippers (2-2, 1-2) can pull off the upset, they would end a losing streak against the Eagles that dates back more than a decade. Minnetonka last defeated Eden Prairie in 2004, when the Skippers picked up a 17-7 win on their way to the program's last state title.

While the Eagles can beat teams in a number of ways, one focus for Minnetonka's defense will be to slow Nebraska recruit J.D. Spielman. The senior carried his team last week, scoring touchdowns on a punt and a kick return and rushing for another to bring his season total to seven.
