Two Class 4A teams that made runs in the postseason will clash in Week 1. DeLaSalle reached the state title game before falling flat against Becker (a 24-6 loss) and finishing the season with an 11-2 record. The Islanders will need to find a way to replace the production of dual-threat quarterback Billy Hart, who amassed 42 passing and 13 rushing touchdowns last season.

Holy Angels' lone loss came in the state quarterfinals when Hutchinson won 45-14. The Stars have had some success in recent meetings against the Islanders, picking up a 16-12 home win over DeLaSalle in Week 7 last year and winning 32-21 in the 2013 Class 4A state semifinals.
