Moorhead at St. Michael-Albertville

The past two seasons have seen St. Michael-Albertville climb into the realm of Class 5A's best programs. The Knights have a 20-4 overall record and reached the state tournament twice in that span. They pushed eventual champion Mankato West to its limit in a 26-21 loss in last year's semifinals.

St. Michael-Albertville’s first test of this season comes against a visiting Moorhead team that is looking to regain its form from a few years ago. The Spuds earned trips to the state tournament in 2011 and 2012, but haven’t been back since.
