Kez Flomo was a man possessed in the second half, leading Totino-Grace to a 31-24 victory over Osseo. 

The senior running back had 20 carries for 122 yards and three touchdowns in the second half, alone, as the Eagles erased a 6-point halftime deficit. The 5-foot, 11-inch powerhouse totaled 207 yards on 35 carries in the game. 

“I was hungry,” Flomo said. “I’ve never had a hunger like that before.”

The victory earned Totino-Grace, ranked No. 6 in Class 6A, the final Northwest Suburban Conference West Division crown. 

Osseo made it interesting late in the game. After cutting the deficit to just seven points with 30 seconds on the clock, Osseo junior Damario Armstrong recovered the Orioles’ onside kick at the Totino-Grace 45-yard line. But an interception by Totino-Grace on the first play from scrimmage conserved the victory. 

Osseo senior running back Justin Ekiyor had 25 carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Orioles. 

“I have a lot of respect for them,” Flomo said of his opponents from Osseo. “I just wanted to win my last regular-season game.”

Key of the game: Osseo’s first of two fourth-quarter turnovers was costly. Tied at 17, the Orioles fumbled kickoff return with 8:25 remaining. The ball was recovered by Totino-Grace’s Preston McKasy, leading to the go-ahead touchdown by Flomo.

One thing to know: Flomo said the team is playing for senior team manager Rachel Woell, who died from brain cancer just weeks ago. “She’s looking down on us,” Flomo said. “We want to do our best for her.”
