Cretin-Derham Hall at Stillwater
7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3

Stillwater has had quite a season so far. The Ponies are 5-0 and ranked No. 7 in Class 6A, but they are going to be tested as they begin a challenging stretch of games to wrap up the regular season.

Cretin-Derham Hall (3-2) is the first team the Ponies face in that final stretch run. The Raiders travel to Stillwater for a Suburban East Conference game Friday.

Stillwater is looking to build off last week's 35-7 victory over White Bear Lake in which the Ponies were steady on offense and opportunistic on defense, forcing several turnovers.

Senior running back Zach Knox finished with 194 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries, and senior defensive back Joey Freichels snatched a pair of interceptions.

The Raiders have a 3-2 record with their losses coming in close games against East Ridge and Mounds View, both of which are ranked in the poll.

Cretin-Derham Hall's Maxwell Jackson could be a struggle for Stillwater to contain. The senior quarterback has more than 1,000 passing yards and 13 touchdowns this year.

With a victory over the Raiders, Stillwater could move into a position to challenge Mounds View for the conference championship and set up a quite a showdown with the Mustangs in their Week 8 matchup.
