Pierz at Holdingford

Central Minnesota Conference rivals Pierz (2-0) and Holdingford (1-1) have taken turns beating up on each other in recent years. The pair are set to square off again when the Pioneers, No. 4-3A, visit the Huskers. 

Both teams are looking to rebound from shaky Week 2 victories. Matt Messman, a senior running back, rushed for 225 yards and scored on two touchdown runs to help Holdingford sneak by Rockford 14-13.

Pierz need to hold on for a 28-21 victory over Maple Lake after the Irish scored 21 unanswered point in the second half.

Holdingford is 3-2 against Pierz since 2011.
