Becker has had no trouble in Granite Ridge Conference play, going undefeated the past two seasons. That success translated to a state trip in 2012 where they reached the Class 4A semifinals. The Bulldogs fell in the second round of section play last year. A non-conference game against a 6A school is sure to provide them with experience moving forward.

Minnetonka, on the other hand, will be looking to forget a narrow 27-24 season-opening loss to Hudson on Aug. 22. The Skippers play in the harrowing Lake Conference, which features Eden Prairie, winner of the last three big-school state championships and another perennial juggernaut in Wayzata.

Becker has an enrollment of 769; Minnetonka's enrollment is 2,846.
