Class 6A football playoffs roundup

A look at Friday night's games.

It wasn’t a pretty night for anything, let alone football. But winning a Class 6A playoff game Friday had to help make dealing with the cold and snow easier for Champlin Park. The Rebels beat host Mounds View 28-0 in the first round of the state tournament.

The wet, cold weather led to nine turnovers between the teams, including six in the first half. The Mustangs lost four fumbles in the first half and finished with five lost and two interceptions. The Rebels lost a fumble and threw an interception.

Rebels quarterback Joey Faulds scored three rushing touchdowns and threw for another, to Trey Carlson in the fourth quarter. Faulds ran for 121 yards.

Minnetonka 35, Forest Lake 0: Ty Barron and Adam Livingston scored two touchdowns each to lead the Skippers past the visiting Rangers. Barron scored the first two touchdowns of the game on a 1-yard run and 29-yard run. Livingston scored on a pair of 3-yard runs. He finished the game with 137 rushing yards.

Shakopee 27, Eastview 8: Jack Casey ran for three touchdowns to lead the Sabres past the visiting Lightning.

Prior Lake 27, White Bear Lake 0: Spencer Shaver scored two touchdowns to lead the Lakers past the visiting Bears.

Edina 28, Burnsville 12: Ryan Meyer ran in two touchdowns and passed for two others to lead the Hornets past the visiting Blaze.

Rosemount 34, East Ridge 6: The Irish broke the game open in the second quarter with 17 consecutive points to defeat the visiting Raptors. The Irish got a field goal from Nathan Whiting, a touchdown run by Marvin Walker and interception return for a touchdown by Sam Willmott in the second-quarter spree.

St. Michael-Albertville 41, Hopkins 18: Desean Phillips rushed for 213 yards and scored five touchdowns for the host Knights.

Maple Grove 33, Wayzata 10: Evan Hull ran for four touchdowns for the host Crimson, which pulled away after leading by three points at halftime.

Lakeville North 42, Buffalo 14: RaJa Nelson scored the game’s first four touchdowns, propelling the Panthers past the visiting Bison.

Totino-Grace 32, Anoka 8: Carter Djam ran for a touchdown and two-point conversion to lead the Eagles past the visiting Tornadoes.

Eden Prairie 44, Eagan 14: Cole Kramer led the Eagles past the visiting Wildcats with two touchdown passes and a two-point conversion pass.
