Defensive Player of the Week revealed

Brock Mogensen, Farmington. Despite Farmington's 34-14 loss to Eastview, the senior linebacker made 17 tackles and added a sack and a forced fumble.

Player of the Week candidates

Colton Bauer, North Branch. The senior led the Vikings with 19 tackles in a 55-36 win over Grand Rapids.

Noah Benson, Prior Lake. Benson and the Lakers defense held Lakeville North scoreless, as the junior linebacker made 13 tackles and had an interception in an 8-0 victory.

Onte Burns, Robbinsdale Cooper. The Hawks held North St. Paul to one score, as the senior linebacker made 17 tackles in a 48-7 win.

Weston Johnson, Robbinsdale Armstrong. Almost as if the senior linebacker had an ear in Coon Rapids' offensive play calling, Johnson had five sacks in addition to his eight tackles in a 31-14 Falcons victory.

Ty Kemp, Wabasso. The senior linebacker made 17 tackles in a solid defensive game, as Wabasso held Murray County Central off the scoreboard in a 32-0 win.

Westin Kirk, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton. In a 26-18 win over Edgerton/Ellsworth, the senior linebacker had a forced fumble, a sack, and made 16 tackles.

Tyler Ososki, Blaine. The senior linebacker was a force on defense, leading the Bengals with 18 tackles in a 28-16 win over Totino-Grace.

Alex Otto, Monticello. The junior linebacker led the Magic with 19 tackles in a 32-27 loss to Rogers.

Jaiden Russell, Buffalo. In a 48-41 victory over Chisago Lakes, the senior linebacker made 14 tackles and forced a fumble.

Odell Wilson, Minneapolis North. The senior made 11 tackles and had a sack and forced a fumble in a 42-22 win over St. Paul Como Park.
