Austin Springer, St. Michael-Albertville: Undefeated St. Michael-Albertville shut out Centennial 23-0 thanks, in part, to the senior linebacker, who recorded 14 tackles.

Player of the Week candidates

Patrick Boland, Elk River: In a 40-21 win over Chisago Lakes, the senior linebacker made 19 tackles.

Dylan Edwards, Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart. The senior linebacker made 18 tackles and had an interception in a 62-26 win over Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman.

Bryce Erickson, Willmar: Erickson and the Willmar defense held Big Lake to just six points as the senior linebacker finished the game with 13 tackles in a 38-6 win.

Steve Hajas, Delano: The senior tallied 13 tackles and an interception in a 26-7 win over Holy Family Catholic.

Westin Kirk, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton: The senior linebacker made 23 tackles in a 26-22 loss to Mountain Lake.

Cullen Lewis, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City: In a 14-0 win over Osakis, the senior defensive end had 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Jariel Lopez-Barrera, St. Louis Park: The junior linebacker’s 18 tackles led a St. Louis Park defense that held Richfield to just six second-half points in 28-20 victory.

Zach Mensink, Owatonna: The senior linebacker made 13 tackles while Owatonna allowed just one touchdown en route to a 42-6 victory over Rochester John Marshall.

Alex Otto, Monticello: The junior linebacker led Monticello’s defense, making 19 tackles in a 21-20 win over Cambridge-Isanti.
