Maple Grove (2-0) moved to No. 2 after a 9-6 win over No. 12 Prior Lake (1-1, 1-0) and will face No. 5 Minnetonka this week in its Metro West subdistrict opener. Minnetonka (2-0, 1-0) rolled No. 14 Wayzata 21-7 a week ago to claim its place atop the district standings.
Following a 42-13 win over Anoka, Champlin Park (2-0, 1-0) rose to No. 3 and will try to defend its rank this week against a surging St. Michael-Albertville (2-0, 1-0) team that climbed five spots to No. 6 -- a result of the Knights' 40-20 rout of No. 11 Blaine last Friday.
Edina's 20-17 overtime victory over Rosemount propelled the Hornets (2-0) to the No. 4 ranking just prior to their first Metro West matchup: a home showdown with Wayzata on Friday.
Centennial is one of two teams new to the top 10. The No. 8 Cougars (2-0) clawed their way in after a 25-17 victory over defending state champion Totino-Grace (1-1), which dropped to No. 9, while No. 10 Roseville (2-0) remained unbeaten after rallying to defeat Woodbury 25-22.
The top seven teams in Class 5A maintained their rankings with victories in Week 2.
Top-ranked Elk River (2-0, 1-0) edged Monticello 28-12, shutting out the Magic in the final three quarters of play, while No. 2 Owatonna (2-0, 1-0) continued a boorish run through its competition with a 46-7 win over Rochester Mayo.
Third-ranked Mankato West (2-0, 1-0) beat crosstown rival Mankato East 38-12 and No. 4 Apple Valley (2-0, 1-0) shut out St. Thomas Academy 14-0. Fifth-ranked Alexandria (2-0, 1-0) stymied Sartell-St. Stephens 32-0, and No. 6 Mahtomedi (2-0, 1-0 ran through Park of Cottage Grove 42-14.
Seventh-ranked Irondale (2-0, 2-0) proved its Week 1 win over Spring Lake Park was no fluke with a 35-14 victory over North St. Paul., while fellow Suburban Gold subdistrict competitor Robbinsdale Armstrong overcame a 14-point deficit to defeat St. Louis Park 40-17. The win helped the No. 8 Hawks (2-0, 2-0) climb two spots in the poll.
Holy Angels shook up the Class 4A rankings by upsetting previously third-ranked South St. Paul 18-7 a week ago. The Stars (2-0) ascended three spots to No. 5 in the poll while the Packers (1-1, 1-0) fell to No. 10.
Top-ranked Winona (2-0, 1-0) improved upon its Week 1 performance with a 41-0 victory over Faribault.
Marshall (2-0, 2-0) has outscored its competition 128-0 following the No. 2 Tigers' 58-0 drubbing of Belle Plaine, and defending Class 4A champion Benilde-St. Margaret's (2-0, 1-0) asserted its defensive prowess with a 14-0 win over No. 16 Orono (1-1, 0-1), sending the Red Knights to No. 3 in the rankings.
After falling behind 16 points in the first quarter, Hutchinson used a 26-point second quarter to edge Willmar 46-38 last Friday -- a victory that helped the No. 4 Tigers move up one place in the poll.
St. Croix Lutheran (2-0, 1-0) asserted itself in Class 3A following a 50-14 romp over SMB last week. The victory helped the Crusaders claim the top spot in the poll from Rochester Lourdes (2-0, 1-0), which recorded a decisive 21-6 win over Plainview-Elgin-Millville but dropped to No. 2.
Third-ranked Pierz (2-0, 1-0) beat Holdingford 35-14, while No. 4 Stewartville (2-0, 1-0) bulldozed Lake City 42-15.
Jackson County Central (2-0, 1-0), ranked fifth, replicated its 34-8 finish from Week 1 -- this time against Luverne, and No. 6 Glencoe-Sliver Lake (2-0, 1-0) coasted to a 27-14 win over Watertown-Mayer.
Perham had to wait an extra week to start playing after Frazee forfeited its season, including its Week 1 matchup with the No. 7 Yellowjackets (1-0, 1-0), who opened the year Friday by edging Detroit Lakes 32-20.

Caledonia trailed by more than three touchdowns in the third quarter before the top-ranked Warriors (2-0, 1-0) mounted a 27-point comeback for a 34-27 victory over Triton last Friday. Barnesville (2-0, 1-0) climbed one spot despite not playing. The No. 2 Trojans were schedule to face Frazee but had a bye week after the Hornets forfeited the season due to declining numbers in the program.

Fifth-ranked Maple River (2-0, 1-0) shut out Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 42-0 and has outscored its competition 65-6 this season.
Eden Valley-Watkins (1-1, 0-1) was ranked second last week but dropped to No. 6 after falling to Maple Lake 28-0.
Rushford Peterson remains atop the Class 2A poll following a 29-0 victory over Southland last Friday. The Trojans (2-0, 2-0) have outscored their opponents 87-0 through two weeks.
Second-ranked Wabasso needed a last-minute touchdown to edge Lac qui Parle Valley in Week 1, but the Rabbits (2-0) proved they can win big with a 39-6 demolition of Yellow Medicine River last Friday.
Third-ranked Braham (2-0, 1-0) pushed aside Crosby-Ironton 34-22 last week, while No. 4 Murray County Central (2-0, 1-0) scored 34 unanswered points in the first half of its 40-20 win over Springfield.
Fifth-ranked Minneota (2-0, 1-0) scored 21 points in the final 12 minutes to defeat Dawson-Boyd 48-21.
Ada-Borup/Norman County West (3-0, 2-0) broke into the top 10, landing at No. 9 following a 39-0 win over Fosston. The Cougars' move up from 9-Man has been successful, as they have outscored the competition 132-0 this season.
Previously top-ranked Grand Meadow's 51-game winning streak ended Friday when No. 5 Houston (2-0, 1-0) scored 22 unanswered points in the final frame to win 30-16, dropping the Superlarks (1-1, 0-1) to No.6 in the latest poll.
Wauban (2-0, 2-0) takes over the top spot in the poll after defeating Goodridge-Grygla-Gatzke 42-8. Second-ranked Spring Grove (2-0, 1-0) wasted little time putting away Lyle-Austin-Pacelli in a 70-6 victory last Friday, while Stephen-Argyle steamrolled Warren-Alvarado-Oslo 48-6.
Seventh-ranked Cleveland/Immanuel Lutheran (1-1, 1-0) had seven touchdown receptions in its 63-7 win, while No. 8 Nevis (2-0, 2-0) dismantled Win-E-Mac 46-12.
