Player of the Week candidates for Jan. 9-14

This week's winner

Seth Cushing, Red Wing. The senior forward had two goals and two assists in a 5-4 win over Albert Lea. He leads his team with 18 goals, 15 assists and 33 points.

Nick Anderson, Orono. The senior recorded four assists, including one on the game-winning goal in overtime, in a 5-4 win over Mound Westonka. Anderson leads the No. 15-1A Spartans with 13 assists.

Keelan Golat, Duluth Marshall. The sophomore forward contributed two goals and two assists in Duluth Marshall’s 5-4 overtime victory over Champlin Park.

Sam Hentges, Totino-Grace. In a 5-4 victory over Irondale, Hentges scored two goals and added two assists. The senior forward leads the No. 20-1A Eagles in goals (21) and points (32).

Bailey Huber, Mahtomedi. The sophomore goaltender stopped 38 of 39 shots for a .974 save percentage in No. 7-1A Mahtomedi’s 2-1 win over No. 6-2A St. Thomas Academy. Huber ranks sixth in the state with a .930 save percentage and is eighth with a 1.69 goals-against average.

Alex Jordan, Minnehaha Academy. Jordan tallied two goals and two assists in a 4-2 win over South St. Paul. The senior forward is second on the No. 12-1A Redhawks in assists with 22.

Brett Kelly, Faribault. The senior forward recorded a hat trick in a 4-3 win over Winona. Kelly’s final goal was the game-winner and came just 48 seconds into overtime.

Ben Kleineschay, Osseo. The junior goaltender made 26 saves to shut out Coon Rapids 3-0.

Nick Leivermann, Eden Prairie. The senior defensemen scored two goals, including the overtime game-winner, to send No. 8-2A Eden Prairie past No. 13-2A Duluth East 3-2.

Jonathan Sorenson, St. Louis Park. The junior forward scored three goals and added an assist in a 4-2 win over Chaska. Sorenson is second on the team in goals (16) and points (28).
