Tom Flood has been named coach of the St. Agnes football program.
Flood, who has been the St. Paul-based school's dean of students, coached the team 1994-1998 and led it to state tournament appearances in 1995 and 1997 and Tri Metro Conference championships in 1994 and 1997. The Aggies were 33-10 during his head coaching tenure.
Flood was an assistant coach at the University of Saint Thomas and former head coach at St. Bernard’s High School in St. Paul.
“Coach Flood brings a wealth of experience to the Saint Agnes football program,” athletic director Mike Streitz said in a statement. “We are grateful to have found someone with years of coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels.”
Flood replaces Jim Stangler, who stepped down last week after leading the Aggies for the past five years.
