Offensive Player of the Week Candidates:

Reese Jansen, Eden Valley-Watkins QB, senior: Jansen was a perfect 18-for-18 passing for 298 yards and five touchdowns in a 49-14 win over Melrose. As if the perfect passing performance wasn't enough, Jansen added 32 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Wade Sullivan, Lakeville North RB, senior: Sullivan needed just 18 carries to rush for 255 yards and four touchdowns as the Panthers rolled to a 42-6 win over Apple Valley. Through seven games, Sullivan has 1,187 rushing yards and 24 rushing touchdowns. Lakeville North will take on Rosemount to decide the East Metro District White Division championship in week 8.

Sidney Boros, Becker RB, junior: Boros managed to rush for 231 yards and three touchdowns on just seven carries in a week 7 win. The defending Class 4A champions beat St. Cloud Cathedral 50-0 for their fifth straight win.

Andrew Quandt, Stewartville QB, senior: Quandt continued his strong season by going 19-for-25 passing for 324 yards and four touchdowns in a 52-14 blowout of Lake City. The senior quarterback has amassed 1,649 passing yards and 22 passing touchdowns to help the Tigers start 6-1.

Nik Thiel, Stewartville WR, senior: Quandt's favorite target tied Michael Floyd's Minnesota state record for receiving touchdowns in a season as his three touchdowns in week 7 bumped his season total to 17. With 199 receiving yards in the win over Lake City, Thiel edged closer to 1,000 on the year, now sitting at 988 yards. The Tigers will take on an undefeated Rochester Lourdes squad as Thiel will attempt to take sole ownership of the record.

Jalen Frye, Mahtomedi RB, senior: The Zephyrs remained unbeaten thanks in large part to their senior running back. Frye rushed for 276 yards and four touchdowns in a 50-40 shootout victory over Park of Cottage Grove.

Brandon Alt, Park of Cottage QB, senior: Park fell just short against Mahtomedi but Alt did everything he could to keep his team in it. The senior went 27-for-39 passing for 391 yards and four touchdowns and added 27 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Alt has 29 total touchdowns on the year.

Jackson Dunleap, Stillwater RB, senior: Dunleap broke out with 27 carries for 214 yards and five touchdowns as the Ponies rolled to a 55-28 win over White Bear Lake in week 7. Dunleap entered the game with no touchdowns before the five touchdown outburst.

Simon Weller, Sauk Centre QB, senior (winner): Weller had a hand in all seven Sauk Centre touchdowns as the Mainstreeters topped Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 49-21. Weller finished 13-for-18 passing for 266 yards and five touchdowns and added 62 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Tanner Teige, Big Lake RB, senior: Teige racked up 273 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries and added a receiving touchdown in a 28-0 win over Princeton. Teige is averaging 170 rushing yards per game for the Hornets.
