Oct. 19: The Panthers posted a perfect record last season before falling to the Irish in Week 8.

The regular season's final week is of dual importance for many teams across the state. Several squads will play for league titles while all will receive a tuneup for the postseason.

On Wednesday, Lakeville North and Rosemount meet once again to decide the East Metro District White Division championship while prepping for what could be two lengthy runs in the Class 6A state tournament.

The Panthers (7-0, 6-0), ranked No. 2 in Class 6A in the Associated Press state high school football poll, sit one game ahead of the No. 7-6A Irish in the league standings and are aware of how tenuous their position is entering the regular-season finale.

Lakeville North saw its perfect record blemished with a 35-27 loss to Rosemount in Week 8 a year ago, leading to the Panthers, Irish and Burnsville each earning a share of league title.

Lakeville North has been in top form all season, but can the Panthers avoid history repeating itself and prevent Rosemount from once again finding its way to the top of the standings on the last day of the regular season?

The answer will be revealed at the end of this clash between two of the state's top programs and their game makes our final Top Game of the Week of season one to watch.
