Sept. 24: The Raptors look to stay perfect in East Metro District Blue Division play when hosting the Ponies.

With three teams ranked in the top 10 of the Associated Press Class 6A state high school football poll, the East Metro District Blue Division rivals only the league's White Division (also with three teams) as the most competitive division in the metro -- if not the state.

Having so many heavy-hitters in one division has resulted in some exciting matchups in a season that is just three weeks old.

Week 4 seems to be no different as No. 9 East Ridge faces No. 10 Stillwater on Friday with plenty at stake.

Since the switch to district alignments at the start of last season, the Raptors are unbeaten in league play, and they risk that 9-0 mark against a Ponies team likely reeling after a 42-21 loss to No. 7 Cretin-Derham Hall a week ago.

East Ridge (2-1, 2-0) also looks to remain tied with Cretin-Derham Hall atop the league standings, with a game against the Raiders looming in two weeks.

Stillwater (2-1, 1-1) needs a victory over the Raptors this week and then has to hope East Ridge defeats Cretin-Derham Hall - while also avoiding another slip-up -- to stay in the division title race.

The matchup between the Raptors and the Ponies may not be a must-win for either, but it is as close as it gets and is the perfect choice for our Top Game of the Week.
